 - Licenced PBS Certifier under the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) Performance Based Standards (PBS) scheme.
 - Providing support and advice relating to Australian Design Rules (ADR) certification and vehicle compliance;
 - Licenced certifier under the Vehicle Safety Compliance Certification Scheme (VSCCS) for the NSW Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) to certify   
   components of light commercial, medium and heavy vehicles and trailers, and omnibuses (greater than 4.5 tonnes);
 - Successful management of complex engineering projects, designed and managed over their life cycles.

Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics) with Honours

Dean is a professional Engineer who has worked in the heavy vehicle industry since graduating. Most recent roles within Smedley's Engineers as the Operations Manager, and previously; Engineering Manager. In these roles, Dean managed the overall operations and was responsible for the effective and successful management of labour, productivity, quality control and safety measures, while also ensuring safe and efficient operations. This role was also responsible for enhancing the operational procedure, systems, management, enhancement of business processes and management reporting.

Dean has also worked for Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific Pty Ltd in roles such as the "Systems Engineering Manager" supporting the Australian Defence Force (ADF). Dean also worked as the "Senior Engineer - Certification & Testing" supporting Vehicle Testing and Certification of all Mercedes-Benz products for the Australian market.

Dean was working in Singapore for two years supporting a local manufacturer for the supply of specialised Vehicles into Australia. Dean helped secure the contract, and was responsible for the design and development, through to compliance of all relevant Australia Design Rules (ADR) and regulatory Australian Standards.
